Trying to Understand Reverse Geocoding for Project

In one of my class projects, we’re building a simple map app, and my teacher mentioned reverse geocoding. I understand it has something to do with converting coordinates into places, but I’m a bit confused. What kind of info can I get with a reverse geocoding API? I just want to know if it can show simple things like the city name or street from the location points.

Reverse geocoding is a way to turn a locations coordinates into real-world place names. With a reverse geocoding API, you can usually get simple and useful details. For your map app, just pick one that clearly shows location names users can recognize.

Yes, reverse geocoding is actually pretty cool I used it and with a reverse geocoding API, you can easily turn coordinates into useful details like the city name, street, postal code, or even nearby landmarks. It’s really helpful for map app.you just give the latitude and longitude, and it gives you the place info back. It definitely made project look more polished!
